The Mansion House York
The Mansion House in York is an architectural wonder, right in the heart of York in St Helen's square and is the formal home of the Lord Mayor or York during their official term in office. The building dates back to 1725 and took seven years to complete although the architect for the building remains an unknown.
Recently in 1998, the Mansion House was restored by the York Civic Trust and house some great collections of silver ware, paintings and period furniture as well as York's Great Sword Of State, which dates back to 1416 which once belonged to the Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund
